A Prayer for Advent
“It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand; let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light.
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God; and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
In the hope of the coming and manifestation of Thy Son Jesus Christ, we draw near to Thee, O God, at this time. May the Spirit that spoke by the prophets and dwelt in Thy Son, take entire possession of us, that we may worship in great thankfulness and pray in great faith and in all charity. Amen.
