Easter Hymn – Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven

Nathan Partain rehymned this text by Henry Lyte a number of years ago.  We recorded it on our ‘Mid All the Traffic‘ CD.  We also rewrote the refrain to use at Easter.  Best part of this recording is Wolfy Johnson playing the flemish-style harpsichord from Tabernacle Pres in Indianapolis.

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven,
To His feet Thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Who, like me, His praise should sing?
Come and worship, come and worship
Praise the Everlasting King (Worship Christ the Risen King)

Praise Him for His grace and favor
To our fathers in distress;
Praise Him, still the same for ever,
Slow to chide, and swift to bless;
Come and worship, come and worship
Glorious in His faithfulness.

Father-like, He tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes.
Come and worship, come and worship
Widely as His mercy goes.

Angels, help us to adore Him:
Ye behold Him face to face;
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space,
Come and worship, come and worship
Praise with us the God of grace.
