Summer Reading List 2010 – Worship

June got here really quick this year.  Because summer is always a great time to renew the act of literary wishful thinking here are a few essential perennials that you should pick up to add to your yearly re:read list. Most of these were required reading for our class on Worship with Reggie Kidd while studying at RTS-Orlando.  They are still ones I reference in ministry on a regular basis.  What are you reading this summer?

Music Through the Eyes of Faith
Harold Best

.

Fools for Christ: Essays on the true, the good, and the beautiful
Jaroslav Pelikan

.

For the Life of the World: Sacraments and Orthodoxy
Alexander Schmemann

.

Worship Seeking Understanding: Windows into Christian Practice
John Witvliet

  1. I am going to stray a bit from the “Summer” time frame and say that these are the books that I would love to get through this year (or maybe next).

“With One Voice” Reggie Kidd (finished earlier this year)
“Christ Centered Worship” Bryan Chapell (almost finished with this one)
“Ancient Future Worship” Robert Webber (almost finished with this one)
“Music through the eyes of faith”Harold Best
“Worship Matters” (almost finished) Bob Kauflin
    “Our Worship” Abraham Kuyper
“Enthroned on Our Praise” Timothy Pierce
“The Art of Worship” Greg Scheer
