Last night Christ the King celebrated our annual Lessons and Carols Service at the lovely Burning Coal Theatre space in downtown Raleigh. Thanks to everyone who made the service such a special night of gospel-ing the Incarnation!
PDF of the Service
- The dramatic readings led by Pj and crew (see script here)
- The “Odors of Edom” vocal ensemble singing William Billings “Judea” (more info here)
- Upon a Hill in Bethlehem (Glory!) a song I began in my class at Duke this Fall and then worked up as a prelude for the service.
Here is our song list:
(prelude) Upon a hill in Bethlehem (Glory!)
O Come all ye faithful
Let all mortal flesh keep silence
I wonder as I wander
In the bleak mid-winter
o little town in Bethlehem
(special) Judea – William Billings
Away in a manger
What child is this?
Angels we have heard on high
Star in the east
Joy to the world (our arr.)
Here is our service from last year.
