Kyle Turver and a phenomenal group of musicians and artists have founded a new liturgical commons project in the seattle area called “Coastland Commons.” They have just released their latest CD which is a meditation rooted in the story of Luke 24. The collection of songs are a wonderful mix of personal narrative, biblically rooted reflections, and pieces that would be appropriate for corporate worship. You can check it out and read more at their website.
As we enter the Eastertide season this is a perfect album to meditate on. The Emmaus Road story in Luke 24 is the story of the wonder of the resurrected Christ. How do we see him? How does he walk in our midst? What does the walking, risen Lord ask of us? How does the eucharistic encounter open our eyes to see the Christ?! Let this album be a commitment to engage in the 50 days of the eastertide season in a new way this year.
