Among the Thorns – Vocation Songs for Worship

Cardiphonia, in collaboration with The Porters Gate Project just released two albums of songs we have been laboring on here for the past year or so.  The project is broken up into Cardiphonia contributors and a network of songwriters connected to Pillar Church (Holland, MI).

These songs find their genesis in a wide swath of influences from scripture, to old grange texts, ancient prayers, modern hymns, and the local congregational context. Their goal is to broaden the language of worship music – to introduce themes of work, justice, and vocation that help believers connect their workday lives with the work of the Kingdom of God.

>We recommend the song “Every Mother, Every Father” from The Porters Gate album as a great song to sing after baptisms in your church. leadsheet

?You can check out both projects on Bandcamp! A full songbook for both projects is included with the purchase of either one.
