Week 3 – All People of Our Newborn King – Advent 2018

Bellwether_journal_cover_stamp-11Welcome to Advent 2018

This year we are going to blog our way through the whole season of Advent & Christmas sharing one song a day! In week 1 we looked at advent songs that draw from OT language. In week 2 we are looking at gorgeous Advent texts that have been retuned. In Week 3 we will explore newer texts/tunes that we’ve sung (or hope too!).

All People of Our Newborn King
Luke Brawner chart | youtube

I love this simple adaption of All Creatures of Our God and King by Luke Brawner from his Nativity e.p. This could be a great option if you are looking for something to sing after Dec 25th in the “Christmas” season but your congregation would look sideways at singing carols.

LYRICS:

VERSE 1:
All people of our newborn King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise Him, Alleluia!
Come, wand’ring souls, to Bethlehem
Join in the celebration hymn
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!VERSE 2:
Born is the One who shall redeem
Worthy alone of all esteem
O praise Him, Alleluia!
Come, bind your hearts, in praise rejoice
Lift up a chorus with one voice
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

VERSE 3:
Let all creation His name bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him, Alleluia!
Come gather round His manger throne
And turn your hearts to Him alone
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
